Purpose: Why a Speaker's Bureau?

The primary mandate of the District 67 Toastmasters Speakers Bureau is to create an environment where anyone who is passionate about public speaking can develop the skills and confidence to be successful. The District 67 Toastmasters Speakers Bureau exists to help speakers perfect their speaking skills for audiences outside the Toastmaster's Club. It will help further refine their presentation, delivery, and content development to appeal and benefit organizations with interests and needs that are different from a typical Toastmaster's Club. The District 67 Toastmasters Speakers Bureau will afford the members support and education that will bridge the gap between speaking for free and speaking for a fee.

The District 67 Toastmasters Speaker's Bureau functions under the leadership of the Speakers Bureau Coordinator. The Speaker's Bureau does not function as a Toastmaster's Club. While the Speaker's Bureau is not a club, it supports the clubs, and members must come from the ranks of Toastmasters clubs.

To support advanced Toastmaster's whose goals include: speaking outside the club, earning the accredited speaker designation, speaking for profit, or gaining public office.

To provide organizations outside of Toastmasters, with educational, motivational, inspirational, or entertaining speakers.

To further develop highly competent presenters for Toastmasters training programs.

To lend support to Toastmasters District 67 membership and club building efforts.

To provide a venue for qualified speakers to share experiences, leads, encouragement, and tips to ensure the successful growth of all members.

Who may participate?

Any Toastmaster in good standing, who has achieved the educational level of Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB) or above may participate.

Speeches given on behalf of the Speakers Bureau are on a NON-FEE basis.


The Bureau offers two types of participation

First, Bureau speakers will be expert on their specific topics/presentations. Therefore, speakers will limit their speech topics/subject matter to no more than two speeches on which they intend to speak. Value and content is very important to speaking outside the club and limiting the subjects you speak on will help to ensure the presenter has a thorough knowledge of their subjects.
