  Developing high quality professional speakers in District 67

Organization of District Speakers Bureau

  Speakers Bureau is organized by a group of Speakers, who shall satisfy several requirements shown in term 4 and supporting staff appointed by District Governor.

The following chart presents the organization of District Speakers Bureau:
   
 

     
  Selection Committee
    Responsible for final approval of Speakers' Bureau candidates, Selection Committee is comprised of 5 professional speakers who are members of Speakers' Bureau. With the Tenure of 2 years, the members in Selection Committee are chosen from the following procedures:
    a. 2006-2007 Selection Committee is appointed by District Governor
    b.
 
The future Selection Committee members are proposed by Speakers' Bureau members for approval by District Governor.
         
    Selection Committee members must attend “From Speaker to Training” to review candidates' demonstration speeches with a quorum of 3.

 

3.

Application Criteria and Procedure for District Speakers Bureau

 

3-1.

Criteria

 

  Current member in good standing of a toastmasters club

 

  ATM-B above or District Contest Champion
  3-2. Application Procedure
    A. Documents Required
     

Application form ( As attached )

      2 Letters of Recommendation from non-Toastmasters speaking engagements.
      Certificate of attending “From Speaker to Trainer” training
           
    B. Speech Engagement

 

   
 
Deliver at least ten speeches in non-Toastmasters community with documentary evidence submitted with the application form
     
 
Deliver a 3-5 minutes speech to promote Toastmasters at convention, being reviewed by the Selection Committee.
           
    C. Approval by Speakers' Bureau Selection Committee
     
 
Candidate's documents and demonstration speech will be evaluated by the Selection Committee, who will make final decision of approval.
           
  3-3. Certificate of Speaker

 

  Once an applicant follows the above procedures and completes the application, District Speakers Bureau will issue a certificate, as the identity and honor of the applicant to be one of the Speakers in District Speakers Bureau.

 

         
  3-4. Language limitation
    There is no language limitation while the candidates deliver their speeches.

 

         

 

3-5. Qualification Maintenance Procedure
     The certificate in term 3-3 will be valid for only one year after the issue date. If the Speaker fulfills minimum requirement of 3 speech engagements in non-Toastmasters Community and provides documentary evidence, the membership of this Speaker will be renewed.
           

4.

Recognitions and Awards

 

4-1. In addition to the certificates, District will also prepare badges for each Speaker in District Speakers Bureau
  4-2.
 
District will promote District Speakers Bureau to non-Toastmasters community and arrange opportunities for Speakers in District Speakers Bureau.
  4-3.
 
District will help Speakers in District Speakers Bureau to achieve the Accredited Speakers Program in Headquarters.

 

         

5.

Annual Plan in 2006-2007

  5-1.
 
District will arrange 4 Professional Speakers Workshops, two in north Taiwan,one in central Taiwan, and one in south Taiwan.
  5-2. District will grant a 20-30 minutes keynote address in Conventions for Speakers in District Speakers Bureau.

 

5-3.
 
District will sponsor Speakers in District Speakers Bureau to deliver keynote address in other Districts twice a year.
