BEGIN WITH THE CLUB MISSION
The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth

Characteristics of a Healthy Club

 

1.Club officers attend club officer training in all levels

 

2.Club officers fulfill their roles and responsibilities;

 

3.Meetings are well planned, have good attendance, start on time, end on time, are varied and
   fun

 

4.New members are inducted during a formal ceremony

 

5.New members receive an orientation to the Toastmasters program, focusing on what the new
   member wants to achieve

 

6.Members are involved in every aspect of the club

 

7.Speeches from the Communication and Leadership Manuals are       encouraged

 

8.Guests are made to feel welcome

 

9.Guests are given information about the benefits of Toastmasters and are asked to join

 

10.Member accomplishments are recognized

 

11.Club Newsletter is regularly produced and distributed to members,guests, and prospective
     members

 

12.Missing members are contacted and invited to come back to the club

FIVE STEPS TO SUCCESS

 

1.

Have a vision

 

 

The leaders must imagine what they would like to have happen in the club in the future, and work with their team to make it happen

 

2.

Set goals

 

 

A.Leaders identify "specific goals" that must be achieved to make their visions a reality

 

 

B.GOALS ARE:  S.M.A.R.T.

       SPECIFIC: Your goals must be specific and achievable
       MEASURABLE: You must be able to validate your results
       ACTION-ORIENTED: Your goals must have action behind them
       REALISTIC: Your goals must be practical and achievable
       TIME-BOUNDED: Your must have a timetable to achieve your goals

 

3.

BUILD AND MOTIVATE A TEAM

 

 

A.All members must see the vision

 

 

B.Members must want to make their visions and goals a reality

 

 

C.Leaders must communicate effectively "What's in it for the member?"

 

 

D.Be enthusiastic

 

4.

MONITOR PROGRESS     

 

 

A.Leaders must meet regularly with committee members to track progress towards goals

 

 

B.Revise your plans and goals as necessary

 

5.

ACHIEVEING YOUR GOALS

    When you focus on the first four steps, achievements naturally happen
    Celebrate your successes and members will be encouraged to set and achieve new goals
