The theme of Excellence TM Club’s No. 351 meeting is “cooperation”.  It’s a very good theme for this meeting No. 351 of Excellence Club will cooperatively hold a joint meeting with 喜洋洋國語演講社.  It will be an extremely marvelous experience for our two clubs to share.  Those who intend to succeed should be in cooperation with others.  There is an old saying, which says: “A person relies on parents at home, and relies on friends while abroad.”  Therefore, everyone should have to cooperate with friends.  A friend in need is a friend indeed. 

I appreciate that喜洋洋的謝志峰會長and 吳大鶯教育副會長warmheartedly run for the success of this joint meeting.  Of course, I must thank Eva Huang, the EVP of our Excellence TM Club.  Without her endeavor and COOPERATION with 喜洋洋, there will be no sweet fruits for us to taste.  So, I will give Eva a big applause for everything she has done for us.  

Now, I’ll make an analysis of the English word, “cooperation” to explain why this word means “to work together”.

“cooperate” is the verb form and “cooperation” is a noun form while ”cooperative” is its adjective form. “cooperate’ means “To work or act together toward a common end or purpose”, according to “The American Heritage Dictionary”.  This word, “cooperate” can be analyzed as follows:

cooperate────→ co + operate

“co” means “together”

“operate” means “to work”

In other words, co + operate means “to work together”. 

This time it’s Excellence Club’s honor to have an opportunity “to work together” with喜洋洋國語演講社 to hold a joint meeting with the view of promoting the participation and mutual relations between these two clubs.

I believe “well begun is half done”.  Through numerous cooperation, Toastmasters in Taiwan will prosper permanently.
