Welcome to the Toastmasters Hsinchu. Hopefully, the following messages can familiarize you with our meeting procedures.

Self-introduction
At the opening of this meeting, every new guest will be invited by the president to make a simple self-introduction. Please prepare a few words in your mind now. A short introduction of 30 seconds to one minute is enough. By the way, we would like to know how you know about our club.

Format of the Meeting
The general format of HTC's meeting consists of the following sessions: (1) Variety Session, (2)Table-Topic Session, (3) Prepared Speech Session and (4) Evaluation Session.

Joke Session:
Joke Session is usually the first session in a regular meeting. It is 10-15 minutes long and serves as the warm-up session for the attendants. In the session, members and guests volunteer to go up stage and deliver their jokes. There's no time limit in it -- just fun.

Table-Topic Session:
In the Table-Topic Session, everyone -- including guests -- is welcome to offer opinions on the discussed topics. Please take part actively and express your viewpoints within two to three minutes in your group. This session will be conducted by a Table-Topic master and his or her assistants. We usually divide all the people present into three groups.

Prepared Speech Session:
About two to four members assigned by our EVP (Vice President Education) will deliver their speech in every meeting. Each speech will last from 5 to 10 minutes depending on which program the speaker will carry out.

Evaluation Session:
Every speaker will be assigned a senior member to be an evaluator who will give constructive suggestions to the speaker. Each evaluation lasts about two minutes.

Comments from Guests
Before the meeting ends, every guest will be invited to offer an opinion about this meeting. You can prepare a short comment in advance.
Note: If you are invited to say something and really have no idea on that issue, don't be embarrassed. You may just say: " I really have no comment at this moment." or just say: "Let me think about it longer."

If you really like our club and decide to be a member, you may contact Bruce Huang, our Treasurer. He will give you a membership application form to fill out. After you pay your membership due, you are officially a member of Toastmasters HsinChu. We will assign you a mentor who will help every step of the way including your ice-breaking speech.
