Non-Profit English Activities in Taipei   Gordon Brooks

My favorite and popular saying in life are, "Happiness and Success in Life is when you "Meet the Right Person, at the Right Time, in the Right Places and Doing the Right Things” and “The Joy of Life is Giving and Sharing."

The non-profit English activities promoted by yours truly, is in the name of Joe Brooks Foundation (JBF) for the past 20 years.  JBF is a dream of my to remember my American adopted father (Joe Brooks), by promoting the English language for international friendship and cultural exchanges. Joe Brooks was a single American who raised and adopted two Korean orphans and myself, a Chinese orphan at the age of 9.

The activities in Taipei include: Socializing with the Skal Club of Taipei--monthly luncheon with the tourism executives in the hotel, airline and travel industries, Table Tennis, The Mustache Club, The Baldheaded Club of Taipei, Party of the Week – 7 hours- include Hiking in the mountain trails, Gordon's Laughing Club, Ballroom Dance and KTV--English songs, Gordon's International Gourmet Club (GIGC) and Toastmasters Clubs.

In master any language, it is the environment and the type of people that we associate in our daily life with--that makes the difference. We grow together, learn together and having fun together in our journey through life.

I can’t think of doing anything better in obtaining a better, happier, more meaningful and positive life than join the Toastmasters.  It is the world largest Non-Profit educational institute with over 10,500 Clubs in over 90 countries.

English is a tool for the whole world used in international trade, communication, friendship and cultural exchange, inter-racial marriage, better job opportunities, positive life style and “being a citizen of the world.”

“All the World is a Stage and we Toastmasters plays each different role at the meetings. When the curtain rises, we are confident, ready and enjoy every encounter in life that comes, faces and challenge us!

We, the Toastmasters here on this beautiful island country and as part of the human race, “we are 2nd to none, if we have the same environment and opportunity in doing anything!” Participation is the Essence of Life.

God Bless You All for being a Toastmaster and attending this wonderful Spring Convention-District 67 Toastmasters Convention--Taichung 2006.

For more information on the above English activities in the Taipei area and get involved with a positive everyday life style. Please contact yours truly at Tel. 0927-324-078 or e-mail: gbrooks@ms33.hinet.net
